COSTA RICA REASONABLE AIR FARE
So, for the 10yr anniversary trip next early June, are there any experienced individuals out there who might know "the" best time to purchase tickets? I currently have a quote of $529 one way per person, flying out of St Louis. I am hoping to spend less than $2200 for tickets - that would actually be a huge chunk of our trip money. And, if I find a rate I like, I can book that rate and lock it in for our trip later, right? Haven't had to pay for my own airline ticket in 6 years. ALSO, I would prefer NOT to buy the unrefundable tix which are closer to my budget, just in case something happens. Does anyone have tips for me, or suggestions on best time to book and what I might expect to pay? I am so appreciative of your help!

Hi, I would say you monitor the airfares, you have time and in June will be low season anyway, i would not think there will be any problems with sold out planes, etc. You can expect to pay up to 100% more for a refundable ticket if not more, I would say a good price for a R/T non-refundable could be around $300 to $500, Another tip is if you are a frequent traveller maybe you have miles and spend them on the trip, my wife and I travelled to Europe on miles and had to make a change of dates and had no problems with AA and Continental, just an idea...
