Costa Rica & Panama
We want to fly in to CR in May, spend two weeks in CR, continue on to Panama for another two weeks and return from Panama. Need suggestions for CR portion to include Lake Arenal area. the Pacific Coast in Guanacaste/Nicoya Peninsula, Manuel Antonio and possibly the Osa Peninsula. We would probably use someone like Interbus for transportation to avoid the 22 lb limitation on domestic flights.
Is his doable and any recommendations on places to stay would be appreciated.
Thank you.

We like a lot of those areas. Especially love the Arenal area for the all the great adventure activities; we've stayed at the Lost Iguana, Nayara, and the Springs Resort and Spa and enjoyed all of them. We got a Groupon deal at the Springs. There's nice hiking at the Hanging Bridges and the waterfall; you can swim at the base if you want to. Also don't miss the natural hot springs - both Tabacon and Eco Termales are nice. Sky Trek is great for ziplining; we also like the Cano Negro tour and the Penas Blancas river float. Both Sunset Tours and Desafio are good tour companies in the area with comprehensive websites if you want to check out all their activities. On the Osa, we like Bosque del Cabo - great hiking and wildlife sightings; we saw all 4 kinds of monkeys, sloths, toucans, scarlet macaws, and an anteater, a lot of it from the front porch of our cabin. Manuel Antonio offers a beautiful beach inside the park and easy access to fairly tame wildlife; we enjoyed doing a guided tour of the park with Manuel Antonio Expeditions and their Damas mangrove tour as well. You can hire private drivers, drive yourself, fly on Sansa or Nature Air, or use Interbus like you mentioned. I'd recommend flying down to the Osa Peninsula, only about an hour from SJO if you fly.

Our nephew was living on the Caribbean side near Puerto Viejo for about a year. Every 3 months or so, they would have to leave the country because of their work permits. They would head down to Bocas del Toro for a few days by bus/taxi. You will need to research this. Not sure afterwards if you could go on by land.
