Hi butsey, I did look, and they didn't review it. It is just a small place--maybe that is why. Thanks for your reply, Owa

Hi again I tried and found it there is only 1 review and it's a good one. When you get into the web site and you go into P.Vallarta then go into hotels you have to keep scrolling to next page I think it's on the 4th or 5th page. Let me know how you make out.

Hi, we just stayed there for 9 nights over xmas. Beautiful property and rooms. The owner and service people were great. All the rooms have a fridge, micro, dishes, blenders.
We had the 2 bedroom suite and my sis and her husband a mini suite.
I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Hi, Thanks s140. I'm so glad you responded. How would the rooms work for the 10 of us(2 families with 2 children each ages10-15). We would go over Christmas. What rooms should I ask for? Was it quiet? Is there a good beach to walk on near by? Did you cook, and are there stores near by? Thank you so much in advance. This will really help me? Owa

I have no personal experience, but have read quite a number of really postive posts over the past few years, on two different PV-specific internet boards about Casa Claudia. I believe the property is just north of the Buenaventura in the Hotel Zone? So a reasonable distance to downtown. It's a popular place so don't wait too long if you want to go there over the holidays next year, especially for a larger party.

Owa, we had rooms 5 and 9, they are ajoining on the ground floor. It has a full kitchen, dining area and living room. The room with a full kitchen does have futon sofa but since our boys were 18 and 20 we opted for the extra room. It's pretty quiet.

The first day there my husband took the bus to walmart and bought grocerys and took the taxi back. I did bring my own coffee and tea and zip lock bags(they came in very handy for all kinds of things) but could have just got the coffee and tea there. We usually ate breakfast and snacks and most lunches but always went out to dinner. We stocked up on beer, soda and wine, even tho there is a small bar by the pool. If no one is manning the bar you can help yourself and just write what you drank on a tablet with you room number. There are lots of small stores every where.

The beach is fine, the first couple days it was all sand but after a storm out in the ocean (we didn't see it)the beach had alot of rocks, but it was still nice.

Claudia is on the south side of the Hotel Buenaventura. We wandered over there a quite a few times for drinks and they have a nice pool area that you can use if you are buying drinks and food. The pool at the Claudia is not heated but we used it anyway. Most days we had the pool to ourselves.

If you look up Different World web page they have some nice pictures of the Claudia as does the Claudias own web sight. You will enjoy it, and the other guest were quiet with a mix of small children, teen and seniors.

Hi s140, Thanks again for responding. I think it sounds perfect for us. We just don't want to do an all inclusive again, nor do we want to go back to the Cancun area. This will be our first time to PV, so I'm grateful for any help I can get. Now I'm just waiting for Casa Claudia to respond to my e-mail. Thanks again, Owa

Hi butsey, I like your style!! Do you always travel this much? Thanks for your offer for information. I'll get in touch when I decide. I still haven't heard from Casa Claudia. My family is "open" to whatever I decide. I'm getting more and more excited about PV as I do my searching. It looks like there will be more than enough activities to keep us busy. Plus, we are excited about the reviews of good places to eat. Actually, I'm off to "warm" also in about 3 weeks. My husband has to go to the Dominican Republic on business, and I'm going along for pleasure. I'll be in touch. Thanks again, owa

We have stayed at Casa Claudia and loved it. Would def. stay there again. Gorgeous property maintained beautifully, quiet and near shops and restaurants. There is a huge grocery store/Walmart-type store within 2 blocks--no need seek transportation to another area. If you have not heard from them, try emailing them again. Be sure and take a map that shows this hotel when you go--the cabs have a hard time finding it as the small street it is on is not widely known. If you questions that have not been answered already, please post.

We were considering staying here until I read a review on the trip advisor that said the beach was poor and the pool small. (All other reviews were very positive). Could you comment on this please? Is the pool large enough for swimming? Can you swim in the water off the beach? Also wondered what was in the immediate area of the hotel eg. restaurants, shops, etc. Thank you for your help. (It generally looks and sounds like a wonderful place to stay. )

The pool is certainly not an Olympic sized pool. It seems like it is as large as a typical home swimming pool--larger than a plunge pool, but smaller than you will find a huge resorts. It is in a beautiful garden like setting and the rooms and buildings surround it and look down on it. The beach is a little rocky and the water is not as pretty as on the Caribbean side, but we swam several times. There are several restaurants and shops in the area and a huge grocery store within 2 blocks--we walked to get all of our groceries. We particularly liked one restaurant that was grilling fish in an open window right on the street--can't remember the name, but we went there twice. We loved the Casa Claudia and would def. stay there again.

eschach, I've been gone and did not see your post until today. I e-mailed and e-mailed Casa Claudia--no response. I finally called "Different Worlds" to make reservations. But then, maybe you have had better luck with a response from them. Good luck.

Hi,

I dealt with Hannah at Different World by email and she was great. The owners have been away, so if you were trying to reach them recently that's why you were unsuccessful. They just got back and I am now waiting to have my reservation confirmed. We also dislike all inclusives and usually rent a condo, but Casa Claudia sounded like something a bit different and worth a try. Will let you know. We'll be there in February. Elena

Elena, I have reservations for the end of December. If you like, e-mail me and I'll let you know how our trip was since we are going before you. How many are going? My e-mail is [email protected].
