just got back from cozumel

1. best beach "playa azul" right next to playa azul hotel, you can use their pool ( but why would you want to with a awesome beach nearby) food ( i recommend eating at the nearby rest. on the water down the beach from the playa azul, great view and good food, also this area is great for snorkling, tons of fish near the two piers at the beach - playa azul is a 5$ taxi ride from downtown - heading north 5 miles

2. go to the west side of the island - take a jeep or taxi to "mezcalito's bar" it is breathtaking on this side of the island - big waves, no people, nude beaches, windy, tour down to the "reggae bar" on the southwest corner of the island - more views and drinks
3. Mayan ruins - San Gervasio is worht the time, you could tour for 1 hour to 3 hours(we did a short walkl thru in 1 hour) tons of iguanas, cool ruins, you can find it on the way to Mezcalitos Bar, its half way between the east and west sides of the islands
have fun

I would recommend you get one of the guides in a Suburban at the pier (if you see No.4, chose that one!) and head for the west side of the island. I recommend going to Chen Rio--beautiful beach, fresh seafood and cold beer-- away from the cruise ship throngs.

Definately hit Chankanaab park.There's
a nice beach with very good snorkelling there. You might want to swim with the dolphins while you're there. It's a little pricy, but worth it.Then check out the uninhabited side of the island.
Some beautiful beaches and vistas. That should do it for the time you have.
Hi Brenda!
You got some great suggestions! If I only had that amount of time I would:
1.) Take a cab or van to Chankanaab and snorkel or swim with dolphins ($$$$) and have lunch, then shower and get dressed at their facilities
2.) Take a cab back to town and party at Carlos and Charlies until it's time to go back to the boat

or, as someone else suggested, if you are more cerebral, the Chen Rio and San Gervasio trip would be great too. (But no snorkeling.)

OR, you could get in touch with Fury Catamarans who run a great snorkel tour with open bar and a lunch buffet party on the beach - they go to some GREAT reefs offshore. That lasts several hours.

Have a great time! Three more weeks till I'm there!!!
