which rome hotel? nerva, due torri or rinascimento?

Hi. I'm going to Rome the first week of November and am torn between three hotels: The Due Torri, which sounds quiet and well-located; the Nerva, which is right by the Roman Forum, which I love; and the Rinascimento, which is in the same area as the Due Torri and looks a little roomier. Has anyone heard about, or had experience with, any of these hotels? They all look great on their Web sites... but then, anything can be made to look great on a Web site. Opinions?
P.S. if anyone has comments on Hotel Silla in Florence or La Residenzia in Venice, please feel free to share those, too. Thanks!

Hey, Neva.
I and my company shall go to Rome the last weeekend of October. I'm in the command of planning the trip.
Due to heavy booking, we all could not stay at hotel Cardinal. Hence three of us shall stay in Rinscatemento.
The main reason for me to choose Rinscatemento, is location. It is in the via Pellegrino, leading from the charming marketplace Campo dei'Fiori, and crowded with handicraft workshops. This part of Rome is excellent for walking tours to all the highlights of Rome. I stayed at Campo dei'Fiori last year, which is a very charming hotel. I believe Rinscatimento to be of higher standard, though, and according to my telephone calls with the hotel, it is quite renewed.
I also love the Forum, but staying in a hotel close to it will make the other walking distances longer. The Campo Martio area (where Rinscitamento is) is also less noisy, and close to the Tiber as well. Maybe a little "shabby" compared with areas like Popolo/Spanish steps etc, but who cares?
Have a nice trip to Rome. If you are in the position of deciding your hotel on arrival, you are free to call me when I "move" into the Rinascimento at Oct 25th around 16:00. Then I can tell you how the hotel really looks.
Bjorn, Norway

I vote for the Hotel Due Torri. It's loaded with charm and has a great staff! Its located near the Piazza Navona and within walking distance from everything.

You can see it and more info about Rome on my websight. The sight isn't completely finished but the Rome section is.

http://home.earthlink.net/~richardab/

Follow the path;

Enter>Fly>Europe>Rome

Let me know what you think.

Another vote for the Due Torri. We just returned from Rome and liked the Hotels location the best. We were a short stroll to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona and easy walk to spanish steps, Forum/colussium and St. Peters. Another attribute we liked was the hotel was on a small alley street and this provided a quiet atmosphere. Those scooters make more noise than you may want to hear.

Hi Neva-
I also vote for the Due Torri. Just returned from Rome and spent 5 nights there. We had a room on the 5th floor with a terrace and loved it. The staff is great, the location is perfect and it is very quiet at night. Have a great time.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. The Due Torri it shall be. A question for Vern: Did you request your fifth floor room, or was it just luck of the draw?
