Hi

This will be my first time travelling to Paris, which district should I stay that is more convenient to me to visit the attractions (ie. Lourve, Eiffel Tower, etc).

Meanwhile, I will be visiting to Disneyland Paris as well. In this regard, which district will be more suitable for me? Any recommendation on the accommodation on budget for 2 pax?

There is no one district that is suitable for all attractions in Paris. I prefer the 5th or 6th. You'll get many opinions.

There are metro stations all over the place so don't worry about getting around. Don't choose a location based on accessibility to these 3 sights.

This could mean anything from hostels to expensive (for me) hotels. Some people think budget lodgings cost $300 per night. We need a price range.

I also prefer the 6th, then the 5th....anything in central Paris will be fine. You should also consider a hotel or apt that is close to a Metro station and/or bus stops...that will determine how easily you can get around.

Denisea, yea agree with you that look for an accommodation near to a metro/bus station so that easier to travel around.

That's barely 50 euro. I have no idea if it's even practicable at that level, outside hostels and risky flophouses - and probably out in the higher-numbered arrondissements.

For example, here's a place that both I and Fodorites Scott and Jamikins recommend highly: no frills, not luxurious but comfortable, not a very chic or fashionable area but well placed for public transport - but it would require you to up your budget substantially:

I once read that everywhere in central Paris is within 250 meters of a metro station and from what I've observed it's mostly true. That's only a 5 minute walk (or less) so I would not worry about the metro location.

For that amount of money you will have to forgo accessibility to the 3 sights you've mentioned and rely on the metro and transfers within the metro and forget about location.

Other than hostels or getting lucky on booking sites, here's an apartment that is within your budget. I've rented with this agency and they are reputable.

Otherwise, I only know of 2 hotels which are just a bit above your price. Both are in good locations.

I'm sorry but for 30 euros per night all you are going to get is a bed in a dorm room in a hostel - and shop carefully to be sure it is a pleasant hostel. Getting a hotel room for 2 from 60 to 80 euros per night is a super budget category - and the question then is not what area to stay in but what place can you find that is clean and safe.

PatrickLondon and Adrienne, thank you for your suggestions. Based on you guys replies, after consideration,I might need to increase my budget to have more choices on the accommodations. If the price range is up to £80 per night, will there be any better choices?

That will give you a few more options but is still definitely in the strict budgt category for 2 people. What amenities are you willing to give up - private bath? elevator versus stairs?

Sorry I can't help with specifics but that is not our price point (we like comfortable hotels in a central location with larger rooms and seating area - so look at around 300 euros).

The hotel Patrick mentioned above is €75 a night for a large double. We stay there every time we go to Paris. It is clean but basic and a bit farther out.

Here's a hotel that is very close to St-Michel (Notre Dame). The rooms are very basic. I haven't stayed here but did look at a room. It was not fancy but the bathroom was updated and lovely.

This is a much nicer hotel with double rooms for E98 per night, depending on when you're going. It's in the Latin Quarter and within a 10 minute walk (or less) of Notre Dame and right near the Luxembourg Gardens. They have an elevator and ensuite rooms. I stayed here a couple of times before they renovated it and was happy with the hotel and location.

You may have more choice in hotels if you look at the higher numbered arrondisements....10-14 might be good choices for less expensive hotels. Take a look at the suggestion by Patrick. Every hotel may be somewhat close to a Metro station but I would also look at which lines your are on. Some will require many transfers and are not as convenient. The more close stations you have the better, IMO.

You may not be in the dead center, which is expensive, but I thin the Bercy area is fairly convenient and not far as all from the dead center. And it would be convenient for going to Disneyland, also, as it is only one stop from the Gare de Lyon where the RER A line goes right to Disneyland, and it's on the east side of the city. You could get cheaper accommodations out that way and in the 12th arrondisement also wouldn't be a bad idea for you. There are some nice cheap hotels around Nation metro stop, which is also on the RER A line.

You could probably find something in the 10th-12th at that price, but don't expect much. YOu also don't say when you are going, which can affect prices a lot. I'm assuming it isn't next summer, when they could be cheaper than the near future.

Here's one of the cheapest decent ones I know in the Oberkampf area, that would be a good choice. DOubles are 86 euro if you book at least 3 nights.

Here's one of the cheapest in the Latin Qtr, it is a very central location. YOu can get doubles for only 78 euro with a shower, and cheaper without.
