Where would you go back to over and over again

I'm curious as to where people love to visit. I'm looking for a common thread to plan my next vacation.

In the 1990's I kept returning to London. In the last few years, I keep returning to Paris.

I'm adding Italy (I've been there twice, but many years ago) this fall and perhaps I'll be returning to that over and over.

But I can't imagine being as enchanted with anyplace as I am with Paris.

Paris. There cannot be enough said about it. Every trip (7th time this fall) we find something new and magical.

Venice. It is as magical as Paris, but in a different way.

Salzburg. We stay in the village of Groedig just outside of Salzburg and just roam the countryside. Living in New Orleans, we just don't see hills, mountains, and alpine lakes, so we love the change of pace and scenery.

Rome.

Italy in general.

Did I mention Rome?

I just returned from my 6th trip (not that I don't love Paris, too).

Greece! There are so many different areas of Greece that each one could use its own trip. The Mainland, islands, Peloponese, etc. No matter what kind of tourist you are, there's something for you in Greece.
Paris, seems like it tops many lists, and we loved it and are headed there again in October.
We're always looking for our next adventure. Good luck planning yours.

Italy in general and Florence and the Amalfi Coast in particular. Florence for its art, architecture, history, etc., and the Amalfi Coast for just plain fun. Been there 4 times and returning next year.

Nice and the Italian Riviera. I never get tired of going there. Paris and Munich also. I have been dozens of times to all of these places and hope I live long enough to go many more dozens of times.

We've been to Hallstatt about 5 or 6 times. It's really a beautiful setting. In fact, the whole Salzkammergut area is gorgeous.

Last year, we visited St. Gilgen on Wolfgangsee and fell in love! I think we shall be going back there again for sure.

But I never tire of Germany, Austria or Switzerland. I should be quite content to spend all of my holiday time there till the end of my days!

Before I saw Paris 8 years ago, it had never been on my wish list of places go, but as soon as we arrived, it was love at first sight. Haven't been able to stay away since. This November will be my eighth time.

Another vote for Paris! Leaving for my 6th visit in 4 days!

Although this is the Europe forum, I must also add Yosemite. for me, both of these places are transcendent, and seep into my heart and soul.

London. Our first trip was in 1974; our most recent this spring; more than a dozen in between. Sam Johnson was right: "When a man is tired of London; he's tired of life."

The rest of Great Britain isn't too shabby either, and I've loved Paris, Copenhagen, Venice, and Lisbon, too, and would go back in a minute. But if I could only go back to one -- it would be to London.
