Where should I eat in Rome tonight?
hi all-
I read something somewhere about how gnocchi is made in Rome on Thursdays? I'm not sure I understand why this is, or where I read it as I can't seem to relocate, but we're looking for a place for dinner tonight and I'd hate to miss out if that were the case.
We are staying on Via Veneto but open to traveling for good food. Something along the lines of 30-40 euro per person would be preferable.

The closer a restaurant is to being a classic trattoria, the more likely it is to do gnocchi on Thursday. Try Armando al Pantheon; gnocchi may or may not be on the printed menu, but I'm almost sure they do it. As to why on Thursday: It's a tradition, whose origins are lost in the mists of time. Some restaurants do gnocchi every day.

Had some very good gnocchi last summer at Ditirambo, just off Campo de Fiori. We've eaten there a few times, and we find the pasta dishes quite creative and all very good. It will be in the 30-40 euro per person range as long as you don't splurge on a very expensive bottle of wine. It would be nice to dine in Rome tonight...

You can walk here from the Via Veneto. It is across from the Villa Medici. Great views over the rooftops of Rome.
And they have gnocci all'amatriciana.
