What are your thoughts on this Italian Itinerary in February

Ok, so this would be our second time going to Italy, first in the winter, we will be going in mid Feb. So, Fly to Trieste, spend 1 night there, go to venice, spend 1 night there, then go to bologna, Spend either 1 night there then one night in Genoa or 2 nights in Bologna, then final 2 nights in Torino. We have been to Milan and florence, rome, Bari, and the Cinque Terre.
Let me know what you think we may spend another 1-2 nights on top of this somewhere in italy, if we can , so let me know your thoughts!

Great idea if you're doing a thesis on Italian train stations or the interiors of Italian rental cars. If not, I'd cut the number of destinations at least in half, preferably more. You're spending more time in transit than actually being anywhere, particularly in February when the days are really short.

It's hard to advise you without knowing what you enjoy when traveling. That said, I suggest adding the nights to Venice. One night in Venice is not enough for most people.

that's 5 or 6 places in 6 nights, or ... - and it's winter with shorter day lengths so even less time actually to see stuff.

my advice - pick 2 of these places max.

I wouldn't spend the first night in Trieste unless your plane lands late in the day or you have some special reason for going into the city. Trieste is almost an hour SE of the airport, and the bus from the airport to Venice would take about 3.5 hours. The train from Trieste Centrale to Venice takes about 2 hours.

I agree with the others who think you should add more nights in Venice and pick only one or two other destinatons. Since it sounds like you're flying out of Torino, I guess that's your final destination. If you really need a third stop, I'd probably pick Bologna, especially because of the fast train options Venice-Bologna and Bologna-Torino.

As already suggested, you really should extend your stay in Venice to at least two nights (or 3, even better). Also be aware that Carnival for 2012, goes from Feb, 11 -- Feb. 21 >> http://www.visitvenice.co.uk/venice-carnival.html

Agree with the above, for a 7 night trip pick 2 places, if you have 9 nights you could try to add 1 more location, so 3 total. Otherwise you spend most of your time in transit, waiting, driving, checking into hotels etc and not enjoying your time in a destination. Especially in Feb when the daylight hours are short - you dont want to spend them in transit only to arrive at dusk, then to have to pack up and leave again the next morning.
