Weather in Greek Islands in Late September/Early October?

Hi,

My wife and I are looking to book a vacation to Santorini and Crete from September 28h-October 8th of this year. Especially in Santorini, we only want to go if it will be warm enough to use the hotel pool, lay out in the sun, go to the beach, etc. Can any of you advise as to whether you think it will be too cold this time of year to really enjoy the sun and water? It seems like temperatures average in the high 70's farenheit (which would be fine) but a friend of ours said they went there a few years back and it was very windy and cold the entire time.

Thank you for any help. It's greatly appreciated!!

Yes, it does get windy and chilly towards the end of September and the further into the fall you to the colder it will be. The pools aren't heated so whether or not you can swim will depend on the prevailing temperatures as well as your tolerance for cold water. Ultimately there's just no way of telling for sure what your experience will be.

BUT, it's still warm during the day. We've been in Crete in the October school hols and swum in the sea.

The sun is usually shining during the days and it should still be warm but not hot.
