Vorpommern/Pommerania author's house
A detailed question about far northeast Germany (Vorpommern) or far northwest Poland (Pommerania):
I am a great fan of the writer Elizabeth von Arnim, a British woman who married a German count and lived in Pommerania from the mid-1890s until about 1905. She was a best-selling and prolific author who wrote more than 20 books (including "The Enchanted April" and "Elizabeth and Her German Garden").
The family lived on an estate called Nassenheide. From a biography written in 1986, I know the estate was very near Stettin, Germany (which is now Szczecin, Poland, I believe).
I am vacationing in Germany in August. I would like to find out if the house is still standing. If so, where exactly it is and whether visitors are allowed. Is that land now in Germany or Poland?
Thanks for any help!

Rob,
Thanks, but maybe there are two Nassenheides.
This estate was 90 miles away from Berlin, within 14 miles of the Baltic coast. The family used to take a train to Stettin, then a horse-drawn carriage to their house.
I will keep looking. This is quite a mystery!
margaret
