Visiting Anne Frank House

I will be in Amsterdam for five days in early May. I know it is a good idea to pre-book entrance times/tickets for the Anne Frank House. However, I Iogged on to the website today and every day for the first two weeks of May appears to be booked.

Does anyone know if some of these spots will be released at a later time? I hate to wait hours in line in order to get into the museum. Any thoughts or advice?

It's a small place, advance tickets sell out. I just looked on the website, and it shows some availability for some days in May, only one or two tickets for some slots. It says that they sometimes add evening tickets, so I would keep checking.

And if nothing else, GET THERE AS EARLY as possible to minimize wait time.

Why not visit the Jewish Historical Museum and the Portugese Synagogue instead and/or do one of the excellent guided walks in the old Jewish quarter?

Also, the monument at Hollandsche Schouwburg is quite moving. That's where the Franks ended up after they were taken from Prinsengracht.

I had a private tour guide and even though the times were booked, he had no problem getting me in.

Like Dukey1 said, get there early, there is a nice coffee and Danish shop next door..so have breakfast there.

We bought our tickets 1/2 hour before the doors would even open.... went and had a snack next door...came out at 9:10 and there was almost a 2 block line up.!!!

Sometimes your hotel concierge can help. We were able to get tickets for the Last Supper in milan with just a week's notice that way
