Vienna Volksoper Tickes

If you know how to make a Web purchase of tickets to a performance at the Vienna Volksoper, please tell me how to do it.
I have not yet cracked the code.
OK folks. The point here being that I found the right place, read the Spielplan, had the dates, could see the ticket prices, found the seating diagram of the auditorium itself, but the aspect of the purchase that thwarted me was the actual purchase of the ticket.
I was referred to a page where I had to put in a user number and a password in order to continue the transaction process. How do I obtain a user number and password for the ticket ordering process?
I have web sites out the ears. So having more web sites does not help me. What I don't have is enough detailed knowledge at this point to know what to do to get the user code and password. So if you know the answer to that question and will tell me what it is, then I can continue.
If not, I will try the Volksoper telephone number in early June and hope my German or their English will get the job done. (Cannot order by telephone until early June for September performances. I can read that much
German and make sense out of it.)

Hi, Bob.
If you understand German, you will see below the boxes for the username and password (Benutzername, password), a yellow phrase: "Werden Sie neuer Benutzer".
Then you get to another screen where you select your username and password, and you give information such as the credit card number...
Small problem: I havenīt been able yet to find it in English. German is not a big problem for me, sometimes I think I am better at it than at English, but if you donīt speak it...
I guess this service is more geared towards the austrian market. They inform you regularly about new operas, theatre and ballet, about offers for regulars,... It makes you envious.
If you manage to get thru, it is quite useful. We got great tickets last September for "The magic flute" in December. I could select when to pay them, until four days in advance, and that was good, because if we had to cancel the trip, we wouldnīt have lost them. I paid at the end of November. The day we arrive into Vienna, we went straight to the general ticket office, behind the Hofburg and picked them up.
Good luck, Bob.

Thanks for the tip. I battled through the screens and registered. Then I ordered. But the screen never asked for a credit card number or any type of payment information. So now, what is the next step? I was a little surprised that I nothing came up like that.
I regestered with name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, and other particulars. Then I was presented with a screen where
I had to fill in a ticket price range, but there was no information as to when I had to pick up the tickets or pay for them. I may end up having to call and hope that someone at the other end speaks enough English to help me understand the next step. At any rate, I have successfully sent in an order request and I have an order number.
And the screen used the term Bestellung erfolgreich. Which I interpreted to mean that my order had gotten good results.
Last year for the Paris Opera my tickets were held at the box office and I appeared about an hour before the performance and completed the deal.
Hopefully this one works the same way.

Hi, Bob.
I have been checking my files, and bingo.
After a couple of days, I received a mail confirming my tickets (plus a small amount) and explaining the way of paying:
1._ Bank transfer to the Osterr. Bundestheaterverband account
2._ Paying at the Postsparkasse (you have to go there anywhere, just to see one of the Otto Wagnerīs buildings)
3._ Credit card. They give you a fax number, and they need the bank name, credit card number, expiration date (the usual).
You should pay at least three days in advance.
Then you can pick up the tickets at the general box office, between the Hofburg and the Stadtoper, or at the Volksoper box office, the same day of the representation. You have to bring with you the confirmation mail and a copy of the fax you sent or the bank transfer. It is very fast and without a problem. We went to the general box office, and it was smooth.
The best way to arrive to the Volksoper is the 40 or the 41 tram from Schottentor, although you can also get the U6. I hope they have finished the works when you go (they were changing the lobby). For a pre-representation drink, I wouldnīt go to the cafe nearby. Too fast, itīs better to walk a bit down the street and visit

Sorry, Bob. I was too fast typing.
The cafe I was talking about was the Weimar (check URL below).

Which opera are you intending to see? We really enjoyed "The magic flute". Fine voices, and a sleek modern setting that was simply brilliant.

Have a great time,
Cova

http://www.tourist-net.co.at/coffee/weimar1.htm

We seem to be having the same problem --hoping to get tickets for Carmen at the Staatsoper in October. Got into the same reservations screen, received a successful order message and an order number to quote but no explanation of how to pay. Just a message that we should get a reply within two weeks but it has been two weeks and have not received a reply. Guess the next best step is to phone them -- hopefully someone will speak English!!
