Tuscany Itinerary

My husband and I are celebrating with a trip to Italy in May. While there, we plan to drive from Florence to Siena, and spend two nights in Siena. We will have a car while we are in Siena. Any suggestions for other towns we can visit while there would be great.

Pam, With a car, stay at the Hotel Piccolo Oliveto just south of the Porta Romana gate where S-2 enters Siena. From there, day trip south to Montalcino and the Abbeys at Mt. Oliveto Maggiore and St Antimo. Add Pienza and Montepulciano to your travels if time permits. See san Gimig. and Volterra on the day you drive to Siena. Have a great time.

Pam, may I suggest you a very fine restaurant in a very pretty place ?
The place is Badia a Passignano, a village close to Tavernelle Val di Pesa, nearby Florence.
The restaurant is Osteria di Passignano.
The restaurant is into an ancient cellar. The food is excellent.
Best wishes.

Dear Pam
Hi!! If you are planning to spend some time around Siena you MUST contact Dario, he is a local and will take you to see places that you will never see on your own, he is charming fluent in English and so knowledgable. I had him take me and my husband for a few days and it was the highlight of our honeymoon
