Transportation in Paris - what to purchase?

I will be arriving in Paris on a Thursday morning and staying until the next Thursday afternoon then taking TGV to Luxembourg and then back to Paris the next Monday arriving at about 10:00 a.m and then leaving for USA the next day.

Here is the plan: from what I understand they stop selling the Navigo Decouverte on Wednesday at midnight for the week and then begin selling it again on Friday for the next week. I will purchase it for Monday-Thursday of the next week.

For the Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and the next Monday, I was going to get a Ticket Mobilis for the day.

I hope this makes sense! Thank you in advance for your help!

Navigo Decouverte passes are sold through Thursday for the current week and beginning on Friday, all passes sold will be valid beginning the following Monday.

You could purchase the Mobilis pass for each day you are in Paris (at 6.40€ per day) and not otherwise using the ND but many people find that purchasing groups of 10 Tickets t+, at a cost of 12.70€ (or 1.27€ per journey) work very well and can save you a lot of money. You would need to take the metro/bus more than 5 times a day to make the Mobilis pass cost effective.

The Mobilis pass costs €6.40, approx. the same as 5 carnet tickets @ €1.27 each. I would only get a Mobilis pass if I were going to exceed 5 uses in one day.

The Navigo Découverte pass @ €19.15 could be worthwhile for those four days if you intend to use it for 15 rides or more. (This calculation does not include the €5 fee to obtain the pass the first time.

Oops, Sarastro... I should have checked to see whether someone else had posted before I hit submit.
