Transportation from Cesky Krumlov to Budapest and small town to visit
Hey everyone! I am planning my second trip to the central Europe this autumn. Last time I had a fabulous time in Cesky Krumlov and would love to visit it again. But I remembered there's no direct transportation (either by bus or train) from CK to Budapest. So last time I returned Prague to get a train to Budapest and that's really inconvenient.
So I wondered if there is any suggestions about the transportation? I cannot considering rent a car because I have a tight budget. Also, any one has good recommendations about other charming small towns like Ck to visit in Czech?
Also, one of my friend is doing a research on travelers' behaviors and hope you could help him by filling this simple questionnaire at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MWB5F6S
Thx a lottttt~

All I know is there is a train from Prague to Vienna, and then of course, trains from Vienna to Budapest, so I would suggest that route. I was on the train from Prague to Vienna once, so I know it is a nice train and stops in a couple places. I know it stops at Brno, for example.
However, you could take a train from Brno to Budapest more directly (rather than going to Vienna), and Brno is on the rail line from CK, also. There are direct EC trains from Brno to Budapest (takes about 4 hrs). CK is a small town and not of much use in getting anywhere, but you can take the train from CK to Brno, you just probably have to transfer in Ceske Budejovice. If you can take a bus from CK to Brno, that might be better as you wouldn't have to transfer.
I can't imagine why you would have go all the way back to Prague to get a train to Budapest, yikes! the train from CK to Ceske Budejovice takes a long time and has a lot of stops so if you get a direct bus, it could be faster. here is some info

actually, that shows the bus goes to Vienna before Brno, so you might as well get out there and then take the train to Budapest from Vienna. It doesn't look like there is a good bus from CK to Brno, only to Ceske Budejovice.
