transport from kusadasi to izmir
I am very excited to be going to Turkey in April this year. I am not sure how to get from Kusadasi to Izmir...are trams/buses readily available, even on weekends? Is it too far for a reasonable taxi fare (as I will have luggage, solo female traveler)? I plan to fly from Izmir to Istanbul. There seem to be a number of domestic airlines so it should be easy enough to find a flight. I am not sure how far in advance I need to reserve; I was planning to obtain a ticket online before I go if I can figure out my transportation timeline. If it is any easy transfer does anyone think it would be good to stay a night in Kusadasi for the town itself? I will probably be there 2 nights while doing daytrips elsewhere. (I will have about 5 days in Istanbul at the start of my trip.) Thank you so much for your help.

I can't recall for sure...although we were driving Turkey, we stayed a few nights at the charming Hotel Kismet on a cliff overlooking Kusadasi (koosh-a - desu) harbor...and my wife seems to remember that the hotel arranged transport to and from Izmir Airport for a few guests with whom she had poolside coversations. Additionally, there are local busses that regularly travel between Izmir and Kusadasi. A taxi may be quite expensive , as it is about 40 miles.

I never traveled with bus in this route but should be only Kusadasi, Izmir and than from Izmir shuttles or taxi. Time consuming. Probably a bit cheaper. But best option is a private transfer or taxi, which is not cheap but comparing anywhere in Europe for Taxis still a deal.....
There are no trains or trams I am afraid.

To all, thanks for the information. I will plan to take a bus from Kusadasi to Izmir and then catch a flight to Istanbul. It was easy to book a flight with Turkish Airlines online. (The other domestic airlines offered fewer flight times and didn't fit my schedule).

Transfer from kusadasi is better becouse when you reach to Izmir bus terminal you need to pay 50 TL to the taxi to get you to the airport +15 for the bus all 65TL better to take a private car to take you there for 80 TL
