Train travel question...
We are planning to travel by train from Berlin to Nuremberg next week. In the bahn website a route goes though Bamberg.
1.-Can we stop on our way to Nuremberg to make a day visit in Bamberg and continue in a night train with the same Berlin-Nuremberg one way ticket or we have to buy 2 diferent tickets?
2.- Is it there lockers in the Bamberg station where we can leave our bags during the day visit?

1. One ticket Berlin-Nuremberg is sufficient. I have a vague memory of DB's only requirement being that you finish the trip on the same calendar day as it began.
2. Yes.
Go to http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en and click the "Via" button to insert Bamberg. You can choose the length of layover.

This way you save money but lose flexibility. Itīs a decision what is more important - with the Dauer-Spezial you can only use the specified trains.
Btw there are no night trains between Bamberg and Nürnberg, as itīs less than an hour by a normal train!

If you book a discount ticket, be careful with the booking because these tickets are only valid on one specified train connection. You can, however, book a train
from: Berlin
to: Nuernberg
!!! via: Bamberg, and specify x hours stay in Bamberg.
With a full fare ticket which is valid on any train on that route, the journey has to be completed within two consecutive calendar days, meaning you could even stay overnight in Bamberg.

In general, a ticket from A to C via B is the same price as a ticket from A to B and another from B to C.
If you buy 2 tickets, you will be able to stay in Bamberg for as long as you want.

It is certainly easy to see at bahn.de - put in Berlin to Bamberg
and Bamberg to Nuremberg
and Berlin to Nuremberg via Bamberg and see what the prices are
very simple
and i think Ira is correct generally but if ICE trains are involved they have a varying price structure and not the old per kilometer fare structure - so-called 'market pricing' as many trains are going to it seems.

Here's a way to combine a cheaper fare with flexibility. Since you probably can determine right now how early you want to leave Berlin, book a Dauer-Spezial fare for Berlin-Bamberg. In Bamberg buy a ticket for a regional train to Nuremberg. The fare is €10.90 and it will be good on any regional train you choose to take. If you want to take a faster IC train from Bamberg to Nuremberg, the fare is €14.50.

Was in Nurembourg this year for a day - a swell town
but the most capitivating part of it for me was a few miles south of town where are gathered what a plaque says is the biggest intact collection of remains from the Nazi or Hitler era in Germany (says something to that effect)
here are some old stadiums - one where you see in films and pictures Hitler often standing on his box saluting thousands of troops marching on the vast parade grounds under him.
And the mile long or so stone-paved parade ground is still there - along with some other stadiums, etc.
But the Nurembourg Parade grounds and this stadium Hitler often perched on to view it were to me captivating - thinking that not that long ago really such fascism was alive and well... perhaps the current Pope was even marching in the Hitler Youth here - and how now things make it seem that this fascist stuff could not have happened in a place like today's Germany. There is an S-Bahn stop close to the stadium, parade ground.
