Trip Report The château of Pierrefonds

Jump to last reply

I don't think I have ever seen Pierrefonds mentioned as a destination for a day trip from Paris, even though it is less than 100 km from the city. It is really one of the most impressive sights in the region, but it isn't the easiest to reach since it is buried in the middle of the forest of Compiègne.

I spent a delightful morning there last Sunday. The weather was beautiful, and the photographs turned out quite well, I think. (This report might also be interesting for anybody who watches "Merlin" on television, because this is where it is filmed.)

If you are interested in something different near Paris, here is the report: http://tinyurl.com/pierrefondsmerlin
