suggestions for 10 day trip

We are looking to travel for about 10 days in southern Germany, northern Italy and maybe a bit if Switzerland or Austria. We want to make sure we get to Stuttgart (husband wants to tour Porsche Factory). Would like see lake Como and the area just north of there. We hope to spend a day in Venice. Also would like to see Pisa as we missed it the last time we were in Italy. We have spent time in Florence, Rome and a few days in Venice in the past. We are looking for suggestions on 2 locations to stay around 4 nights each that have interesting day trips available nearby. If needed we can add a day or two over the 10 days. Any suggestions for a couple nice 'home bases?' Villages or towns that would be nice to get to know early am and evening since we'll be touring throughout the day.

Our plan is to stop in London on the way there and then fly a low cost Europe carrier to an Northern Italian city - so we can rent and return car in same country. Four of us are planning on flying home when the driving trip is done, two are planning on returning car and taking train to Rome before flying home.
