suburb of paris
We have a chance to stay in a newly opened Courtyard by Marriott but I am unfamiliar with the suburb, I know we will have a hike to get into city center but does anyone know if this is a safe area to travel back and forth? especially at night? it is located on Avenue President Salvadore Allende Arcueil, 94110 Appreciate any feed back

Is this your first time to Paris? Is so, definitely too far out. Its actually outside the peripherique.
IF its the first time to Paris for you stay I would recommend somewhere in the 1-7 arrondisments.
I would want to be within walking distance to some sites, and the Seine to get the feeling of being in Paris. It will take so long to get in and out to your hotel.
What is your budget - we can make some better recommendations...

The very short walk to the nearest RER stop Laplace is not unsafe at all and you are only 10 minutes from Luxembourg in central Paris, so it's definitely not an inconvenient location. However it is not a particularly appealing one either: lots of modern office buildings all around, no particular charm. So if you have free accommodation at this hotel and it is your only opportunity to go to Paris, by all means take it. If you are paying full price for the Marriott then you could find better in central Paris which would make your experience more enjoyable.
