Stavanger & Jotunheimen Worth It ?

We are three 25 year olds and are planning a 21 day trip to Scandinavia. Was stuck with the Norway itinerary. We have about 6 - 8 days in Norway with a higher focus on scenic areas.

Must Dos: Oslo, Bergen, Flam Rail, fjords
Optional if possible: Jotunheimen, Stavanger

Was thinking of the following itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Oslo by noon. Spend the day in Oslo. Take night train to Stavanger
Day 2: Spend day in Stavanger and take ferry to Bergen either in the evening or next morning
Day 3: Spend the day in Bergen
Day 4: Flam by Flam Rail, Fjord cruise on the Sognefjord
Day 5: Geirangerfjord and Trollstigen Road
Day 6: Jotunheimen and get back to Oslo by evening/ night
Day 7: Spend the day in Oslo

Was wondering if the itinerary is too aggressive or is it doable ? Are Jotunheimen, Stavanger worth visiting ?

Also on Day 4 should we go back to Bergen or stay somewhere else ? Day 5 where to stay again and what is the best way to get to Geirangerfjord and Trollstigen Road ?

Stavanger is beautiful, but I liked Bergen more. This was, however, when I was living summers in Denmark, back in the 70s-90s, and used to go up to Norway to visit friends. Your schedule sounds doable. I'm not sure about Day 5, as I've never done that before. Maybe you should add a day to Oslo. Happy Travels!

We did an independent tour of Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen, Norway in a Nutshell back to oslo. This was for 9 days. If you could add on 2 or 3 more days you would have more time for each location.

We loved Stavanger. Just plan on not being there on a Sunday because the shops are closed. Some looked so interesting and we were only there on a Sunday. We went on the fjord boat ride and it was beautiful.

http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel...lten-BR-1.html This will give you some reviews of Preikestolen. This would be a great hike if you like to hike.

We loved the ferry ride from Stavanger to Bergen. I would recommend Stavanger for more than just one day depending upon what you plan to do.

We have been on the Norway in a Nutshell tour 2 times and loved it. One trip we stayed overnight on the fjord.

Have added an extra day in Oslo.

Was wondering how to go to Geirangerfjord, Trollstigen Road and Jotunheimen since public transport doesn't connect them. Would it be better renting a car ? How is driving in Norway ??
