Spring flowers Holland 2016
We will be arriving in Amsterdam to take a "Tulip Tour" of the Netherlands and Belgium in a little less than a week. We will be there - on a canal trip - from April 3 to April 15.
I've been looking at the extended weather forecast for the next ten days or so, and it looks as if this is a late spring - cool temps and some rain.
Is anyone there now - and can tell me if the tulips have begun to bloom? Other spring flowers?
I'm planning to have a wonderful time regardless of the weather - plenty to see and do. Just curious as to what the flower-viewing may be like this year ...

Plenty of other spring bulbs are in flower. It is still early for tulips. The weather is due to warm up on Friday for the weekend, which may encourage them somewhat, but it does cool down again next week. Some small chance of showers
Last year there weren't many tulips in bloom on 15 April when we went to look.

Early April is when Keukenhof wins over the free show in the fields, but even there the tulips won't be as good as a little later in April/early May.
As I said the fields weren't in flower much mid April last year, and this year is as cold if not colder. Maybe the heat this weekend will help, but it doesn't look like it will be sticking around sadly.

We just got back from 8 days in the Pays Bas. It was windy, rainy, and cold (a couple of times freezing cold) most of the time we were there. The tulips were not even starting up, though there were crocuses and daffodils everywhere. You can sign up online for the TulipsInHolland weekly update.
