Spanish Riding School in Vienna

It's unfortunate that I cannot enjoy the Sunday performance of Spanish Riding School. Did anyone watch the morning exercise. Is it worth the money, ATS100? What would I expect for the morning exercise?

Thanks in advance

I personally liked the training sessions, but I have seen others on this forum disappointed because they didn't feel they were seeing anything special. It will probably depend on whether you have an appreciation for dressage and the horses themselves. I did see a few exercises in the air, but most of it is ground work.

Thanks Nickie.

For anyone who is interested in watching the performance, the tickets are sold out till end of Sept (The School is closed for July and Aug). Visit the School's website - www.spanish-riding-school.com for ticket information.

I agree with Nickie-I really enjoyed watching the training session. The riders will be doing various things as opposed to a performance when they're all doing the same thing at once. There is also no music. Since there are not tickets available for a performance I would definately suggest going to the training session.

I was one of those disappointed ones with the training session. I felt I totally wasted my precious sight seeing time instead of the expense.

They really just trotted the horses without any special tricks for about 40 minutes. After 5 minutes, it was boring and I kept waiting for it to get good. It never happened. So, I'd base your decision to go not upon the money but what else could you see in that time frame.
Ellen

While the website said there were no tix available for any performances in Sept 2000, I e mailed our hotel (a 5 star, admittedly) and asked if their concierge could do anything....we wanted Sunday matinee for our child...
and 2 days later they say, yes, can do!
Not cheap, but we have 'em!
Cheers, Melanie
