SPAIN MUSEUM PASS

Catalina,
There's a museum pass for the "big 3" in Madrid, the Thyssen Bornemisza, Prado and Centro Reina Sofia, called the "paseo del arte". You can purchase it at any of the 3 museums-I buy mine at the Reina Sofia, which is where I always start (never at the Prado because of the lines). It costs 7.66 euros and represents about a 20% savings over buying each entrance ticket individually; however the Prado is free on Sat. after 2:30 p.m. and all day Sun., but that's also when it's most crowded, particularly in the summer.

Catalina,
You're welcome, but I should have used a calculator! My math skills are decidedly lacking; the "paseo del arte" is about a 30% savings over 3 individual tickets, and the "paseo" is valid for 1 visit to each, but good for 1 yr. Also forgot to mention that the Reina Sofia is also free after 2:30 p.m. on Sat. and all day Sun.

I believe there's also some sort of pass for Barcelona's "Modernista" buildings, but can't recall the details.
Hope someone will post on this.

Bilbao's unsung gem, the Museo de Bellas Artes, is free on Wed.

In Bilbao, the Guggenheim and the Museo de Bellas Artes have a common ticket allowing you to visit both. I don´t have the price right now, but it is only a bit more than the normal price at the Guggenheim. You can buy it at their box offices, or once you are in Bilbao, at some ATM´s called Teleka from the BBK bank.
Check their websites :
http://www.guggenheim-bilbao.es
http://www.museobilbao.com

Rgds, Cova
