Sorry, but I just don't get Sarajevo!

I was really upset when I got there and found out that the place had recent internal strife and I was having to flee from rebels without the aid of my Chevrolet, not understanding what the hell they were talking about. In fact, I was totally pissed off because the only McDonalds in town had been bombed out. I got no idea what that travel agent was talking about but that's the last time I'm ever going there. Next time I'm heading straight for Minsk when I want to have a good time.

I have to admit I roared when I saw this title. I'm just disappointed that the post itself is so leaden.

What *I* don't get about Sarejevo, is how people who worked, lived, played and married with each other could overnight start shooting at each other. The ease with which nationalistic "goons" can use ethnic differences for their own ends -- well now I've stopped laughing

One little suggestion:
before you will head to Minsk - write insulting letter to a Belarus President.
Then let him know you are coming.
I bet you will have so much fun - you will be glad you are back(if) and will pay double tax to Uncle Sam singing something patriotic (assuming you are US resident).

Start a new thread: 100 best things to do in Minsk. How about a side trip to Chernobyl?

Oh, and by the way there are no McDonalds in Belarus. Lukashenko said the cabbage soup is much more nutritious.
