Should I rent a car in Spain?
Hello fellow fodorites! My husband and I will be traveling to Spain in a week. My question is, should we rent a car while in the Andalusia region? We plan on visiting Granada, Ronda, Sevill, and Cordoba.

Absolutely, Spain has great highways and road system, get yourself the big book for Spain by Michelin and individual city maps for each town before you leave.
Remember unless you specify AUTOMATIC and re-validate it a couple of times before you leave, you will end up with a standard, I have had rental companies swear it is automatic and to find a standard on ariival, Although auto europa has never led me wrong.

Yes, definitely. My husband and I rented and picked up a car in Madrid and from there, we drove to Toledo, Granada, Costa del Sol, Seville, Rhonda, Mejia, parked car border to cross Gibraltar Island, and continued driving all the way to Portugal cities and returned the car in Portugal airport on our way home.
The only hassle was finding our hotel in the city but everything else is convenient driving by car in Spain.
Also toll is expensive but it compensates for the adventures, beautiful scenery, timesaving (compared to waiting and transfer to train), and parking actually is not hard.
Happy trip.
