Seeking suggestions for ~8 day trip to scandinavia/northern europe
Hi
I am wrapping up a business trip to Copenhagen this Thu/Friday. And don't fly back from Copenhagen to the US for another 8 days as plan to stay here on vacation.
I am looking for ideas on cities/places to visit and a recommended itinerary (including if I should rent a car/drive or get eurail pass or just use point to point trains/buses).
I have spent a weekend in Copenhagen seeing some of the sights (still need to visit perhaps Louisiana) and eating great (pricey) food. In prior trips had spent a weekend in Helsinki and a day in Stockholm and Tallinn each.
I am thinking of Norway, esp Bergen and the fjords. Other than that not sure of things to do, Rick Steve recommends Aeroskobing for a couple of days. Perhaps Berlin or Amsterdam (though that starts getting to be far away)
I like a mix of some time in cities (esp. ones that have old towns, or cool places to walk in) some nature (hiking, biking or just seeing some beautiful places) and of course good food drink while meeting new folks.
Thanks for any suggestions/advice

Finland would prove cheaper and has lots of sauna, islands and lakes. I'd go here
While I like Bergen it is a day visit at best, the Fjords are impressive but in 8 days you can drive a long way and visit all over southern Norway. Lillihammer is a bigger town for a visit and some of the smaller ones are really just a cross roads with a few shops, Hemsdal, Geilo are all pretty much tiny with good walking! The whole population density of Norway has to be seen to be believed. Oslo itself is a bit more exciting with a viking ship museum and the Kontiki Museum and people (after 8 days the "people" element will be important).

Hi sndraco,
We visited Aero Island while in Scandinavia last year. It is a cute little island. We took our car on the ferry and arrived late one evening, spent the next day there and then took the early ferry out the following day. We stayed at a B&B near Marstal on the island. A car is a must on the island.

Amsterdam and Berlin are about the same distance as Bergen and a lot livelier- Can you change your return ticket without much extra money to either of these cities? Having taken a sleeper train from Paris to Copenhagen (many years ago) I would even consider Paris...
Have a good trip!!!

Hi
Thanks for the info. Been to Paris 3-4 times so skipping it.
Thinking of Norway primarily for the outdoor scenery/nature since its supposedly great and fairly unique. (otherwise berlin/amsterdam would be good choices too)
