Road Trip - Genoa, Italy to Bordeaux, France
Hi! Everyone.
This is Sid from India. I am planning to do a road trip Genoa to Bordeaux and back by renting a motorcycle around 01 July 16. I have few questions and would be grateful if you can give some insight.
* Are there any Motorcycle rental companies in Genoa? I have found lot of car rentals and not many motorcycle rentals?
* How is the weather generally during July?
* What is the best route to take (scenic)? two different routes would be better. One for onward and second for return journey.
*Any requirements for crossing the border from Italy to France.
Thanks a lot

You don't say how much time you have to make this trek, so it's difficult to suggest routes. Routes would be vastly different if you had a month versus a week.
The weather is generally hot. Traffic along the coastal routes and autoroutes can be congested.
Other than perhaps a sign saying Bienvenue en France or Benvenuto in Italia, there is nothing noticeable about border crossings.
I have no personal knowledge of motorcycle rentals in Italy, but if you google noleggio moto genova you will find some.

@StCirq.. Sorry for not giving out the information. Actually I dont have much time, planning it as a weekend trip to watch Euro Quarterfinals.
Thanks for the translation. Got few rentals. Planning on hiring 125cc is it allowed on freeways/highways.
@Whathello thanks for the advice. will keep in mind

I have no idea what the rules in Italy are, but in France you are not allowed to drive a 125cc bike anywhere unless you have completed and passed a compulsory 7-hour training and test, or can show through insurance documentation that you have an unblemished record of driving one for at least 5 consecutive years elsewhere.
