hi travelling throughcentral france after Christmas15. can anyone suggest some quaont hotels along the way to paris. thanks

Central France is a very large area. Where exactly are you traveling, and what is your definition of "quaint?" And what is your budget, in euros?

It would also be useful to know how much time you have for this drive. In another post the OP says he's driving from Perpignan to Paris, preferably through "central France," whatever that might be. Of course he'd have to pass through central France. But my question would be: Why? In December? If this is on autoroutes, there won't be anything quaint, and villages will be dead if he goes on the N and D roads.

For accommodation outside large cities in France we have enjoyed staying at a number of Logis Hotels. They are all privately owned and relatively small - they come under the Logis banner for star rating, advertising etc.

Each one has been 'individual' rather than looking like just any other chain hotel, and many have excellent dining rooms as well.

If you're interested, take a look at http://www.logishotels.com/en/ They have on-line reviews that can only be written by guests who have actually stayed there; we've found those reviews to be fairly accurate.

I agree with di2315, I use that French hotel consortium also in smaller areas (Logis). So you'd have to do a little research in advance to check where there are some in your suspected stopping points. That's the best way to go, people aren't going to know small quaint hotels in small towns all over France very well.

Grimmy has a good idea, that's a good place to visit.
