Purchase Train Pass or Individual Tickets?
I'll be in Italy for 3 weeks in September and I'll be traveling to several cities. I would like to know if I should purchase a train pass or just buy the tickets as I go along. Here are the places I'll be visiting:
Florence - Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre - Lake Como (Bellagio)
Lake Como - Milan
Milan - Venice
Thanks for your help!

Compare prices-when I looked at a pass and compared it to buying individual tickets (Venice to Florence, Florence to Rome, Rome to Milan), I saved $150 (CAD). I also got a sleeper from Rome to Milan included in that price.

These are fairly short journeys in northern Italy. I cannot believe a rail pass would be of any use. Check train fares on www.trenitalia.com to see how cheap Italian train fares are.

Not even close to benefitting from the Italian Railpass - especially since with the pass you still must pay mandatory reservation/supplement charges on faster trains - up to $15 or so in case of Eurostar Italia trains.
Buy all your ticket/reservations at once in Florence.
