Prozac in the water in UK.

There is a new report stating that Prozac is showing up in the water supply in the UK.
Anybody else see it? It is on Yahoo's home page.

The politicians are getting in on the act.
One branded it a case of mass medication.

Sounds like fun and games at the old ballyard.

I remember someone having the most excellent idea of Valium mist being spritzed in our faces as we walk through the airports. I am all for that also

I'm with Judyrem. It would also help with the problem of population growth.

If, according to other posters, the pilots are flying sloshed, why can the rest of us not be a little relaxed ?

It'd have to be in significantly high concentrations to have any effects. I believe that even arsenic traces can be found in water, but are diluted by so many parts per billion that they are not an hazard. Anyway my dears, not to fear, I don't drink tap-water, so unless prozac's in an organic solvent I doubt it'll be getting into my system!

YOu might want to check and see if it is in the ground water! If it is, it will show up in some bottled water, and even beer and ale.

Afterall, we get mass medicated with flouride! And my teeth still need fillings!

Oh well, as one woman I overheard in Paris say, "There is this big statue of Prozac over there in that man's yard."

Oh well, that and prostrate trouble!

Well that's a relief, m_kingdom. We wouldn't want you to be TOO mellow.

I think I will leave Rufus's response be. I'm not up to an adequate comment.

One of the major side effects of Serotonin enhancing drugs, like Prozac, is the loss of sex drive. Yes, it could keep the population down (in more ways than one;-)).

Somehow this reminds me of the episode involving one of my neighbor's daughters. Three factors were the basis for the event. Dad did not pay much attention to his children. The daughter was the typical high school senior of the social set -- more interested in boys than anything to do with school. Her younger brother could be the live model for Jason in Foxtrot.
(Brilliant boy actually, aced the SAT.)

The daughter had to write a paper for school. She did a lick and promise on the Internet for her research and launched into a description entitled

The Population of Canada

It was pretty bad, even without her brother's embellishments.

It started something like this.

Canada does not have much much population. What population it has is in the south. This is because of the United States. In the north, there is not much population because it is too cold.

Her brother suggested substituting a c for the first p in population because it would make the paper more erudite; it might even improve her grade. Well, a few strokes on the word processor and the change was made.

I think Dad found about his daughter's paper in the coffee lounge at the office.
