Private guide from Southampton to London via Windsor Castle
I am in search of transportation from Southampton to our London Hotel with a stop at Windsor Castle. (We'll have luggage) It seems there are buses to Salisbury Cathedral 30 min stop, Stonehenge 2 hour stop, and 2 1/2 hour stop at Windsor Castle, but that seemed rushed at Windsor.

If you hire a driver (very possible) I would rearrange the times. While 2 1/2 hours at Windsor seems OK to me, 30 minutes at Salisbury Cathedral is way way too short. The Close and surrounds deserve at least a little time. A 2 hour stop at Stonehenge seems long too.

Don't think that is a practical idea really. Just the drive from Southampton Docks to central London via Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor will take about 4 hours. Then w/ a minimum of 1 hour in Salisbury (it would take longer if you wanted to see more than just the Cathedral), 90 minutes minimum at Stonehenge and probably more, and 3 hours for Windsor Castle + extra for whatever else you wanted to see in the town . . . ends up being a 10+ hour day. Booking a private guide for that would cost £££/$$$. Plus - leaving the ship say 9:30AM - you'd run out of time for Windsor since it closes at 5PM.
Maybe just transfer from Southampton straight to London and take a day tour to Stonehenge/Windsor during your time in London.

Do you have to do this on the way from Southampton to London?
Why not just go directly to London. Then you could just hop on a train to Windsor and have as much time as you want. And take a bus tour (unencumbered by luggage) to Stonehenge and Salisbury (or do as a day trip by train/bus if you prefer).
I think that getting a driver for an entire 9-hour day (and do you want the driver to be a guide as well?) would be extremely expensive.

Have you been to London before? If not - spend as much time as you can IN the city. I'd forget about seeing things outside the city centre.
But if you've been to London several times before -- then maybe consider not staying IN London at all. You could rent a car in Southampton and base yourselves in/near Windsor. Then drop the car at LHR and fly home.
2.5 days would give you enough time to visit Salisbury, Stonehenge, Avebury, maybe Winchester and/or the New Forest - and Windsor.

If you've never been to London 2.5 days there is nothing to see even the major sightsr. I would not spend a whole day on Salisbury (interesting as it may be), Stonehenge (do you like the idea or have you googled the site to see what it is - I loved it - but It was my 3rd trip to the UK) and Windsor (cute -but the Tower in London, as well as a lot of other sights rank much higher IMHO).
If you look into these sights and really decide they are more important to you than what you would see in London - then I would spring for the private driver at hundreds of pounds - really not THAT much compared to the whole vacation. But do realize what you would be missing in London.
