Prepurchasing tickets to Venice/Florence/Rome sites

We will be in Italy April 9 - 18 and are wondering WHAT we should be purchasing on line/reserving for sites in Venice, Florence, and Rome.

Is there a best time to do it, am I too late?

Where do I find the best places to book these things at?

Go to the sites (i.e. museums) that you wish to visit and many of them like the Ufizzi and the Academie have timed reservations.

You are not too late.

You can have your hotel in each city book the reservations for the places you want to visit for you. Only you can decide which of the sights you want to bother to reserve, since everything might not appeal to you.

Check out is comprehensive pass for Rome.

http://www.romapass.it/english/index.html

You get free admission to the first two museums you visit and reduced admission to others. If you want to visit the Borghese Gallery, with this pass you still need to reserve a time, but you can use the pass to pay for your ticket.

Hi lk,

In Venice:
Secret Itineraries tour of Doge’s palace Phone number from US is 011 39 41 520 9070. English-speaking operator.

You will not be charged for your tickets if you don't go on the tour.

Online bookings are at http://tinyurl.com/z3jy2

In Florence:

>Uffizi and Academia Museum Reservations
The easiest and cheapest way is to call Florence 1010987 (dial around number), 011 (U.S. international access code) 39 (Italy's country code) then 055-294-883 8:30-18:30 M-F and 8:30-12:00 Sat. Florence time. There is a long listing of press 1 for this and 2 for that--press 4 for bookings. You will get an English speaking operator and in 2-3 minutes YOU CAN RESERVE FOR BOTH. This is through the reservation service at the Uffizi and costs beyond the normal entry fee only about 3 euro for the service. This is MUCH cheaper than the commercial booking services.

You will not be charged for the reservations unless you use them.

Have a nice visit.

Further question, since I don't remember the Romapass when we were last there: should I order it now online or buy it when we get to Rome at the end of May?

>>should I order it now online or buy it when we get to Rome at the end of May?<<

Either way, you have to pick it up in Rome; it will not be sent to you.

There is no reduction for buying on line. Buy it on line if you think the USD will sink further between now and then.
