Père Lachaise cemetery video in Paris

I didn't want to deal with the crowds this weekend with All Saints Day on Saturday and the Day of the Dead on Sunday, so I made a visit to Père Lachaise yesterday and decided that a video might be appropriate this time.

Just for those of you who don't know, chrysanthemums are exclusively cemetery flowers in France, and if you ever offer them to a living person, they will be horrified (or rather mortified).

Stunning! The juxtaposition between color and b/w was effective as was the music. I liked seeing it in the fall too. I was moved, when we were there this spring, by the memorials to the French citizens struck by disasters. Thank you for the opportunity to revisit and for the tip on the crysanthemums

Thanks for posting this lovely video, kerouac. We very much enjoyed our half-day spent in Père Lachaise in May and your video brought back memories of that.

Incroyable! Great video - you have a real talent for photos, etc - another in a long string of compelling videos showing warts and all. Bravo as my French friends may say. I have spent many a day wandering around Pere LaChaise and yes this brings it all back, sans the steep lanes to climb up in the cemetery.

I was informed by YouTube that the video is blocked in Germany due to the music rights.

Thanks very much for this. We've never been to Pere Lachaise but hope to visit next spring.

Lovely!

>> chrysanthemums are exclusively cemetery flowers in France,<<

Interesting, I had noticed a lot of Mums when I went to Père Lachaise, but didn't realize that was why.
