Portugal Itinerary - Suggesitons Please!
Hi All!
My brother + I are traveling to Portugal in June and I have come up with a rough plan but am hoping for some input!
Day 1: Fly into Porto (my brother will have jetleg, arriving from Canada).
Day 2: Porto
Day 3: Porto
Day 4: Travel from Porto to Lisbon
Day 5: Lisbon
Day 6: Lisbon
Day 7: Travel from Lisbon to Lagos
Day 8: Lagos
Day 9: Lagos
Day 10: Lagos
Day 11: Travel to Albufeira or Faro
Day 12: Albufeira or Faro
Day 13: Albufeira or Faro
Day 14: Albufeira or Faro
Day 15: Travel from Faro to Paris (end of Portugal)
We are both in our early twenties + my brother has said he would like a "beach vacation" versus city trekking...
Is Porto worth a visit? or should we fly directly to Lisbon? Which Algarve towns are the best to stay in? (are we right in choosing Lagos + Alburfeira/Faro?)
Any suggestions + tips would be much appreciated!
Thanks a mill,
Allie

I hear that you want beaches, but it would be a real shame to travel from Porto to Lisbon (take the train) and skip Coimbra. You could also take a look at the Atlantic beaches on your way south. While you're in Porto make sure to visit the port caves for free tastings.

We stopped in Nazare on our way from Porto to Lisbon and it was a lovely beach town, although I'm guessing it's a mob scene during the warm weather. One of our best (and cheapest) meals was in town there. We also stopped in Coimbra, but it was a Sunday and pretty quiet.
Another possibility would be to skip Porto and add time to Lisbon. You can do day trips from Lisbon (Sintra, Cascais, Estoril).
