Passport Name Question
I have never changed my name on my passport back to my maiden name. I should have taken care of this last year, and to be honest, just never got around to it. Divorce was final only a couple of months before an Italy trip in late 2006, hotel reservations etc, had been made in married name, so left it alone for that trip, and haven't left the country since.
Well...now I have an opportunity to sneak away to the UK for a long weekend/short week, in May, and don't want to risk not having my passport back in time.
I 'think' I should be ok, booking my ticket in my married name, as long as the name on the ticket and the name in my passport match, right????
Anyone out there been in this or a similar situation, where the name in your passport is not your true legal name anymore??
Thanks in advance.

Yes - just make sure the name on the ticket and passport match.
But, from what is being reported - passports are not taking long at all. Nothing like last year. There have been threads about folks getting their passports back in 2 weeks.

A divorce doesn't change your name. It is your decision if you want to change you name or not. (Some women with children keep the husband's name so their last name is the same as the kids, while others go back to their maiden name - but it's your choice.)
As long as the passport and the ticket are the same you're fine.
