Paris to Prague

I'm planning on a week business trip to Paris next month. I've always wanted to go see Prague after looking at my cousin's photo album. Is this an easy sidetrip to manuever for a 2 or 3 day visit? How far is it to Prague from Paris? Are there trains that run between the two cities? I've never been to Europe and don't have any language skills. Would this be a difficult journey using only English?

The train will take too long. Try Jet Tours, Carlson Wagonlit, Nouvelle Frontiers -- they will have weekends in Prague leaving from Paris (airfare and hotel). Carlson Wagonlit is here in the states, the others you'd have to call one of their Paris offices (no problem with speaking English though).

If you can get a package through those sources, it sounds good. I've gone to/from there from Paris (and am again in a couple month) but I just fly Air France. They have frequent flights to/from Prague and their fares are reasonable (although I've only bought them as addon to another fare, in which case they were quite cheap). Actually, AF usually uses Czech Airlines as a codeshare on that route, so you could just czech with them (check, get it.. ha ha) www.csa.com? The flight is only about 1-1/2 hrs.

Also considering a short visit in Paris and then on to Prague. Will need to check w/Delta if I can arrange to use FF miles (do this via code share partner, Air France, right ?).

Or is it cheap to pay for a weekend package to Prague and save the miles? Chris -- have you used one of those packages or are you "in the biz" (If you're a TA, maybe we could synch up offline.)

Lastly, is everything close & in center of Prague (ala Florence, for example). Are there better areas to stay in? Neighborhoods to avoid?
