Wow, I am not sure why no one has added anything here yet.

We (family of 4) stayed in an inexpensive Hotel in the 7th. About a 5 min walk from the Eiffel tower. Near Rue Cler pedestrian street(Yes I am a Rick Steves fan! It was my first trip and it worked out great)

La Motte Picquet(**). About $120 night for the 4 of us ( 1 double 2 twin beds) Friendly and helpful staff.
Keep your windows closed at night unless you want to be awakend early by the street noise.

The metro stop is very close, which we utilized frequently. We found it a very convienent location.
Have a nice trip!

Hi, Bob. I think the problem here may be your use of the term B&B. There are very few, if any, in Paris. But there are lots of relatively inexpensive hotels in the 6th and even more in the 5th. It is a subject which has been "done to death" here. Just type in "Paris hotels" in the text search and you will find dozens of recommendations. You can also go to the "Rants and Raves" section on Fodors home page. Here are some sites for Paris hotels you might check. If you find 2 or 3 that look interesting you might come back here and ask for comments on them. Good luck!

http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/parishotels.htm

http://digital.france.com/hotels/

http://www.paris.org/Hotels/

http://www.paris-touristoffice.com/index_va.html (Choose Accommodation under preparing your stay)

http://www.fhr.fr/cgi-bin/WebObjects/fhr.woa/wa/index?

http://www.hotelboulevard.com/
