We are 3 adults, my husband, daughter and me going to Paris for the first time for 3 nights. Please I need to know the best district to stay for sightseeing.
We need a reasonable priced hotel or apartment ( 450$ or less) any suggestions?

When I go to Paris, I rent VRBO apts. in the area around Republique and the Bastille. Very good Metro connections, real neighborhoods with little shops and restaurants.

For a first timer, I think a hotel will be an excellent choice for 3 nights, especially as there is a concierge/front desk person whom you can ask about the city...transportation, restaurants, sites etc.

Most people here recommend arrondissements 4,5,6 as ideal for a first timer although really you won't go wrong on any arrondissement because of Paris' excellent transportation system.

I suspect that's $450 for 3 nights, right? Otherwise it's a whole lot of money and you can stay most anywhere except the most exclusive hotels. If only US$150, that's actually a bit tight for a triple.

There is no one best district for sightseeing, you can look at a map and see there are 20 districts in Paris, about 8 in the center and sightseeing all over, so depends what you intend to do on your trip as to what would be closest. Dead center would be dead center to everything, so that would be the island. But about anything in that center ring of districts would be fine, of course.

You won't get a lot for US150 for a triple in the expensive ones, though, so if that's your budget, you shouldn't stay in the best.

That budget is definitely tight for a triple room, so while to me the 4th, 5th and 6th are IMHO the best choice for first time visitors I don;t know what you're going to find in that area. No AC won;t matter since it's Nov - but you might need to look at places with stairs only/no elevator and perhaps a shared bath.

There are less expensive places in some of the outer arrondisements - if you look up the threads for budget Paris hotels you might find some recos.

Sorry I can;t give specifics since we prefer to stay right in the center and that is not our price point.

Go on booking.com or hotels.com, select the arrondissement, you can also select the price range.

I think you can even select the currency, it woud be a good idea to ask in Euros. We don't use much the $ here in Europe.

135 € for 3 is at the low end. Pay attention to reviews and expect small rooms.

I'd recommend the 18th, where the ratoin price/quality is better but behaving more like a local in Paris, I'm not always in line with tourist expectations.
