We're going to Italy, Austria and Germany for about two and and half weeks in June. I'm an old-fashioned guy who'd like to continue wearing a white, v-neck tee shirt under my summer outer shirt (whether short- or long-sleeved). <BR> <BR>I can't seem to find any microfiber t-shirts and I'm not so sure that is even the appropriate fabric but I want to find t-shirts in a material that will wash in a sink and DRY OVERNIGHT. I anticipate that laundromats will not be easy to find (at least not in Italy). <BR> <BR>I would appreciate any fabric/manufacturer recommendations.

Travelsmith.com also has nice coolmax travel t-shirts for men. My husband took them on a recent trip and they dried over night. We ordered some coolmax shirts from LLBean but ended up returning them because they were so thin that they were see through. (Which might be ok if you never plan to wear them alone.)I think Travelsmith also makes coolmax/polyester(?) underware - including t-shirts, briefs,etc.

Jim <BR>laundromats are in fact easy to find in most European cities as that is where most people have to do their laundry. <BR>You might want to think about either saving up old teeshirts that are on their last legs and throwing them out as you go, or buying some very inexpensive cotton ones in discount stores (or trophy shops that print logos on very cheap shirts) that <BR>you can wash in laundromats several times, and if they don't last too long you won't have made a large investment on tee shirts you will never want to wear at home.

Campmor has the best prices, when they have them, on Coolmax polyester tee shirts. I got my son several for about $8/each. They are thinner than regular tee shirts, but very soft and comfortable. They do dryquickly, but they also keep you cooler by "wicking" away moisture. <BR> <BR>Also, try Coolmax sox. I get them at Walmart for about $2.50/pair. Feel great on, dry (relatively) quickly, and stay soft.

Jim, Don't forget to place your washed t-shirt in a towel, roll it up, and twist it tightly in order to get as much moisture out as possible before you hang it up for the night.

I second the recommendation for Coolmax from Travelsmith. My husband used them on our trip last summer and was very pleased. It is also VERY difficult to find a laundromat if you're not in a big city, so you should plan on hand washing at night. Who wants to waste vacation time sitting in a laundromat anyway??
