My Apologies To The Tourists in Italy...
You will not be getting an ounce of sleep tonight in your hotels!
I live in a little town (Pistoia) and it is a madhouse...Rome, Milan, and the other big cities must be absolutely crazy!

I don't think there's any better way for a tourist to see the real spirit of Italy than through a World Cup celebration!
No apologies needed, in my opinion!
Italy was so happy! I'm an ex-pat living in Milan and all along my street people were screaming and honking and just really happy. Never seen so many Italian flags!

No apologies necessary Amy, I'd love to be there right now. A friend of mine has borrowed my house in Puglia for the week and can't believe her luck that it has coincided with the Final. As she texted me last night "It's all kicking off. Wicked atmosphere. Loving it here!"

I agree...in our small town everyone -includig the Brits, Scandinavians, Albanians, etc who live here or have holiday homes here- were all in the piazza, it was crazy with honking horns, young guys in the fountain, cars with flags flying- the Italians emote and the rest of us did too.
Great party...great life!!

There were huge (and loud) crowds in Chicago last night, waving Italian flags and having a blast. I too though would trade places with anyone bothered by the noise in an Italian hotel. I went last summer and can't travel this summer due to DH having knee surgery. I DAYDREAM about Italy constantly.
