Munich/Salzburg/Bavaria Itinerary Help

Here is our estimated itinery, please let us know if this is doable. We are flexible. We love the outdoors and look forward to a relaxing trip however do want to see the main highlights. Need help with timing and distance.
Day 1 – Arrive in Munich in evening and get to hotel.
Day 2 – Explore Munich : Church of our Lady (devils footprint), MarienPlatz, St. Peters Church (climb belfry), Viktualienmarket, Asam church , and Residenz (palace, if we have time)
Day 3 – go to BMW tour in morning and not sure if we can do Dachau concentration camp afterwards?
Day 4 – check out of Munich hotel and take train to Salzburg. Check into hotel and then explore:
Hohensalzburg Fortress , Castle Mirabell and go to Bad Tolz for massage ?
Day 5 – Day trip to Lake District,,able car to Zugspitz Would like to do the Salt Mines tour but not sure if this should be done here or another day?
Day 6 – Should we spend more time in Salzburg or head back early to Munich and spend time there? Regardless we will spend night in Munich since our flight is early next day.
Day 7am is flight

Hi Ithomas6,

Just a quick note -- the Zugspitze is just outside of Garmisch; it's nowhere near Salzburg.

Have fun as you plan!

The "lake district"...are you speaking of the Koenigsee?

I've done the salt mines but if I had to do ONE I would do the trip up the Zugspitz but that's subjective.

You can actually do the Dachau site in a couple of hours and it is easily reached by public transport.

I am debating between the Lake District and Zuspitze.
Zugspitz looks very amazing, however it depends on the weather. Since there is a 2 hour distance from Salzburg and Zugspitze, I am wondering if this is something I should do on my way back to Munich or before heading to Salburg? Or would it be better to stay somewhere in between?

Zugspitze can be reached from Munich. In order to get there from Salzburg you should backtrack to Munich, and it would not be 2 hours by train. Also Bad Tolz is closer to Munich than to Salzburg, but getting there would be very much time consuming anyway. IMHO you should accept the fact that you cannot see everything in a short period and you cannot cram two different place, maybe even distant between them, in a single day.

Zugspitze is a further 1h15 from Garmisch. Yes you really need to have clear weather for the trip to be worthwhile, and unfortunately the later in the day that you arrive, the better are the chances for clouds to roll in.

Based on your feedback, I am going to see if I can do Dachau after the BMW tour on Day 3.
Day 4 - We will go to Salzburg and see the fortress and the Werfen Ice Caves (totally forgot about this) Do you think this is doable in 1 day?
Day 5 - Would you recommend the saltmine or untersberg cable car or is the cable car at Mt. Tegelberg better? I think only one of the 3 items i listed is doable since we will need to drive back to Munich to prepare for our departure the following morning.
