Modica, Ragusa, or Noto?

My wife and I will be spending one night in one of these cities (en route from Agrigento to Syracusa). I have found what looks to be a very nice hotel in Modica, but my wife seems to prefer the idea of staying in Noto. Any advice?

I preferred Noto---more intimate.
There was a cute B&B near the Teatro--may include that name.

I can not compare, as I visited only Noto. And loved it. Make sure you will visit Nicolaci Palace.

We visited Noto briefly on our way to Modica from Ortigia and spent an afternoon in Ragusa Ibla. I'd spend my one night at the Casa Talía with its terrific view of Modica Alta and the cathedral. Here's the link to my trip report: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...ecial-trip.cfm.

I can't compare either, but I loved Noto and was very glad I got to see it by daylight as well as when it was lit up in the evening. And as valtor says, don't miss the Nicolaci!

Like bon_voyage, we stayed in Modica at Casa Talía and loved it. Modica is quite charming, with over 100 churches, but still feels like a place that people really live. Great chocolate too!

Although sure they've all something to offer, we've only been to Noto - twice - and I'd go there, if only for a sight of the amazingly reconstructed duomo...

Just wish we'd been able to see it all finished and lit up at night!

I saw it on one of the first days after the scaffolding came down - wonderful! And SO spectacular when lit at night! I hope you get to see it that way some day, Peter!
