Modern Art in the Tuileries?
Hello
Third trip to Paris this year, and this below is something I hadn't seen before. I admit I didn't make it to the Tuileries on either trip earlier this year. In 2009 we visited Paris twice and I don't recall this.
Anyone know the story? Yes, I know I can google it, but thought I'd ask here...

Did not see that myself, but the Tuileries is often used to display modern art. It might be used even more in the future, because the Versailles director who was displaying modern art in Versailles was not renewed in his job (even though he is a former minister of culture), so the venues for outdoor modern art have probably been reduced accordingly.

Artists display very avant garde art in the Tuilleries--it's always changing. I remember once spending a lot of time watching men put umbrellas in one of the ponds. I finally asked and it was a temporary art exhibit.

Here are a few more. Thanks for the information, too!
I stayed in an all-new location which meant there were other areas in my regular path - which was the point of choosing a new area. In my old hotel (which I love) I saw the same things coming and going and as you can see barely made it to the Tuileries despite 5 recent visits. I'm either going to stay at the Mansart again (to explore more in the area) or pick another brand new area to stay...
