I don't know much about this, but I am planning my own trip to London for May. I have a number for Edwards & Edwards that I got from British Tourist Authority to call re theater tix. It is 1-800-223-6108. You might try that. Also, check http://www.ticketmaster.com. I'm not sure if they list international events, but it would be easy to check. Good luck!

There is a very good site called "What's on Stage" It has a search engine that contains all the shows playing in London and the surrounding areas. You can search by name, type, etc. It lists prices, addresses, seating, etc. Sorry I don't have the exact address. Have fun!

You can buy a Sunday London Times at many chain
bookstores like Hastings and Barnes and Noble. There's a big theatre section there. Avoid the Disney type shows you could see in the States that will be coming to your home town on a road show next summer. There are 40 plus theatres in the West End and, if you are willing to be adventurous and wait
'til you get there, there's a 1/2 price ticket booth on Leicester Square that you can get tickets (unsold tickets for that day's production only). If you book stateside expect to pay huge service charges.

Cheryl: I don't know if you want to see musical, comedy/drama or repertory. Have seen Phantom @ Her Majesty's twice - love story of Edward VIII and Mrs Simpson, "Always" is now open at Victoria Palace. Know someone who saw Martin Guerre @ Prince Edward Theatre and they said it was wonderful. Cliff Richard - one of the premier English actor is the lead in "Heathcliff" @ Hammersmith Apollo the musical adaptation of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. You might want to consider something at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park (dress warm!) or a play at Shakespeare's The Globe. There is always Mousetrap, Cats, "Les Miz" (Les Miserables. "Grease" was a big hit with my son's girlfriend who is 21 years old. Have fun.

Call the BTA 1-800-GO2-BRIT and ask them to send you information about the London Theatre in June. Also ask them to send a London Planner for June. If you try the 1/2 price ticket booth in Leichester Square (they don't have the major musicals like Phantom ...), eat at Marche, downstairs at the Swiss Center a wonderful, inexpensive, cafeteria style restaurant! The have desert islands, salad/quiche islands, fondue, stirfry, etc. cooked to order ... It's located at the top, left side of the square. If you walk from Picadilly to Covent Gardens or vice versa you will pass right by it.

The best and free information you can get is from the British Tourist Authority. They send you a small magazine on London and inside is an extensive section on West End and fringe theatre. From memory they list the phne numbers of the theatres or booking agent. These days of cheap international calls and credit cards it is easy to book direct. They hold the tickets for you and you collect when you arrive. If you are sure that you are travelling then there is no risk and it is much much cheaper than going through one of your local booking agencies. I have done this many times - sometimes 6 months in advance when I was booking new shows which would have only been opened 1 or 2 weeks at the time of my visit. i.e Les Miserables, Aspects of Love, Miss Saigon (yuk). Sunset Boulevard and a couple of plays which have now moved on.
If you like Musical Theatre then try to get to see Webbers "By Jeeves" ithink it is which just opened late last year. I have heard "Martin Guerre" is a flop but when I visit London later in the year I will still try to see it.
