London Le Meridien Waldorf

Stayed here for two nights. Hotel is very expensive yet rooms are very small and old. However, they have been updated. Circuit breaker went out and we had to have someone come up to turn our lights back on. Breakfast was the best we had in Europe and was included in my room rate (normally 19#). Great buffet with fancy eggs and meat and everything. Not just some chewy dinner rolls and breakfast crackers that you get in other countries.
There was a loud knock on our door at 8 PM and the staffed yelled "Turn Down Service." We immediately turned down our MTV which we had left on too loud but she continued to knock and yell at us "TURN DOWN SERVICE!" We yelled that we turned the TV off and to go away since we were no longer making any more noise. Eventually she went away.

Bill: R U joking? I can't believe that someone who can afford to stay at a hotel of this level has never encountered turn down service before.

<No one is this stupid>
Well I certainly don't appreciate a comment like that. This hotel was too far East of Picadilly for me since I did not attend any of the plays located nearby. Temple was the nearest tube stop yet carting our luggage down Arch was quite a haul. Longer than it looks on a map. The good thing was the Big Bus stopped right in front of our hotel. I am shocked that this hotel can charge what it does for such small rooms and old decor. I had turn down service later on in the trip but these people were nicer. In Milan they brought candy and did not yell at us to turn down our TV. In the Rome they brought a Robe and boxes of tolitries and they rang a door bell instead of pounding on our door and yelling at us to turn down our MTV.

Bill, are you seriously asking us to believe that you thought "Turn Down Service" was a warning to turn down your TV and not an offer to turn down your beds? Have you ever been off the farm before?
