Hi:

I stayed in Kinsale for one night in 1999 and stayed at a B&B. When I went I relied heavily on the Fodor's guide to Ireland. Listen, I loved Kinsale but 5 nights is a bit much. I really recommend you do the Ring of Kerry and visit other towns as well (esp. Skibbereen, Timoleague, Bantry {i.e. Bantry House} and take a ferry to Sherkin Island. But that's your business. Anyways, in the Fodor's guides they list one that has a 'star' next to it meaning good

* Blue Haven 021/772209 fax: 021/774-268 3 Pearse St. Kinsale

Jack,

For interesting places to stay have a look at www.hidden-ireland.com. One place worth visiting for a meal if not to saty is Ballymaloe House. For a list of B&Bs inspected by the Irish Tourist Board see www.ireland.travel.ie

While in Kinsale make sure and visit the Cobh Heritage Centre just outside Cork city. Hope this helps,

Cathy

Hello,

My husband and I just returned from 2 weeks in Ireland. We stayed at the Old Bank House in Kinsale for 2 nights. It was very nice. Ask for a harbor view room. We had a great room on 3rd floor - very nice place. WArning, there are many steps - not steep though.

Hi Jack,
Got back from visiting Kinsale a few weeks ago. Stayed at the Desmond House. Very nice and large rooms for about $80 for two. Good location and great breakfast. However, 5 days in Kinsale is a bit much. Do visit the Fort and local shops and pubs ( we liked the White House Pub). You will really enjoy Kinsale but 2 days should be plenty.
med
