justairports.com ? London

Hello, many Fodorites like the London car service justairports.com. Their cash prices are great.

However, I'm concerned about additional fees for waiting time. In their terms & conditions it states that the first 5 min wait is free then they charge 25p for every extra minute.

How do they gauge the free 5 mins? From the time the plane lands?

Can anyone comment on this?

Thanks for the help!

Well - the best one to ask this is justairports.

But, they do monitor the flight's status and if it is delayed they adjust their own arrival time.

They waited for me for about 20 minutes after my arrival because the luggage of my flight was delayed and they don't asked for anything extra. I left a bigger tip than usual and that's all.

Their relevant conditions are:

" There is no additional charge for flight delay."

"All meets apart from at Airports - waiting time is free for the first 5 minutes, thereafter you will be charged 25p per minute on the entire waiting time."

This clearly doesn't apply if they're meeting you off a plane - where they simply monitor flight arrivals. It's to do with people not being ready at their home or office when they say say they're going to be.

Last June, my niece was delayed through Immigration & I had to cough up £5 when she arrived at our flat. They monitor the arrival of the flight but delays after that may cost you if you take an inordinate time.

I've had them over 20 minutes late picking me up but didn't get a refund.

I appreciate the warning -- I'll be sure to have some extra cash with me. It seems those type of fees are always a one way deal!

I had a terrible experience with Just Airports. We had been quoted one price, I had it in writing. When we got to our hotel the driver stated another price, which as I remember, was not even near the original quote. The doorman at the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum saw what was happening (because by this time my friend and I were involved in a shouting match with the driver) and made the driver leave. We paid the first price, no tip. Never will I have anything good to say about Just Airports.

We used JustAirports in May - our flight left 2 hours late. Since we were enroute we had no way to contact them. When we landed they were there waiting and no extra charge. They check with the airlines and when advised that the plane is late they just adjust their pickup time. That is why they ask for flight number & arrival time.

Jan22lland, did you report that driver to Justairports? They may have no idea he was trying to rip people off.
