None of the movie scenes were filmed in Montenegro. Several locations around the Czech Republic were used to portrayed this Balkan country. A piece of trivia; this is the first James Bond's book in the series and the Casino was based on a Casino in Estoril, Lisbon which Ian Flemming used to frequent back in the early 50's.

I don't know much about the Bond movies, but having just returned from Montenegro I would have to wholeheartedly agree that the Bay of Kotor is most definitely worth seeing. Its truly the most beautiful place I've ever been.

My daughter called to say that she just saw Casino Royale and she was very excited to recognize the street off St. Mark's Square that leads to Locando Orseolo. How nice that she recognized this location!

I had to laugh when they were on the train "in Montenegro" - I thought to myself - wow, Montenegro's trains are really fancy. Daniel Craig is great - conflicted, moody, great butt, handsome not pretty And that scene in the chair near the end. I concur about spoting the way to Locando Orselo in the Venice scenes - made me smile.

Hey Bob, don't sweat it!, just go to http://www.imdb.com and check the filming locations for the film! You can also use this website to check what movies have in fact been filmed in Montenegro!

DH and I watched the movie last night and loved it. The scenery, especially in the Lakes region of Italy, was spectacular. Having just returned from Montenegro a few weeks ago, I will say that I could instantly tell that it wasn't Montenegro they were filming in! In addition to the fancy bullet train, I don't recall Montenegro looking quite so lush and green, and unlike the roads in the movie I recall seeing very few guardrails in Montenegro!

I was amused to see the Body Worlds anatomy exhibit featured in the movie.
I think Daniel Craig is a good James Bond, but I really miss Pierce Brosnan's wit and humor. That sly twinkle in his eye really got to me!
